100% Wild Tepextate (Agave Marmorata) Tepextate, which grows on cliff faces, rock outcroppings and steep rocky slopes is wild harvested in the Zoquitlan region of the Sierra Sur, Oaxaca, and can take between 15-20 years to mature according to Romulo and many others in the community.

It is difficult to truly know the age of these wild agaves as no-one marked their calendars when they first took root. On average, Tepextate yields approximately 900 – 1,100 liters of mezcal from 12 tons of cooked Agave Marmorata (~29% lower yield than Espadin).
