The Pacheco family is very involved with their community and are giving back in a unique and thoughtful way through the “Semblanza Centro de Educación Artística de Uruapan A C”, which is essentially a not-for-profit Arts Center that they created in July of 2015 for the local children of Uruapan. The Arts Center has the vision of being an educational institution that leads the training and dissemination of different artistic disciplines in the region, always offering a space for any committed person, contributing significantly to cultural and human development by promoting universal values such as respect, responsibility, kindness, fairness, perseverance and peace.
The formation of good, sensitive, and conscious citizens is the priority, while at the same time they provide the necessary tools to develop their artistic skills. The teachers are trained teachers and professionals in their areas, committed to their teaching and service vocation. Many come from as far away as Morelia with some of the music professors coming from “Conservatorio de las Rosas”
The Center has worked uninterruptedly, providing a comprehensive artistic education to several dozen children and young people who have been part of their student body. The following disciplines are taught, complementing theoretical and practical instruction:
Piano
Violin
Guitar
Percussions
Chorus
Plastic Arts
The Arts Center provides its services thanks to the contributions of different actors in the business field, as well as the affordable tuition paid by the parents of the enrolled students; with the possibility of obtaining a scholarship according to the family’s economic possibilities. Its commitment to society also involves the promotion and dissemination of artistic events, courses, seminars, exhibitions, plays, where the main people involved are our students and our families, offering artistic experiences of quality and significance for our community.
