Espadin Largo, Tripon & Barril

This exciting field blend was created exclusively for the US market. It is comprised of Barril, Largo, Tripon (Agave varietals of Karwinskii) and Espadin (Agave Angustifolia Haw). We refer to this as a “field blend” for lack of a better way to clarify that we are not blending finished mezcales to create this one. What we are calling a “field blend” are these four maguey that we have harvested in the same time period, roasted together, milled together and co-fermented and distilled to create this unique expression.

This field blend is a modern day interpretation of how mezcal was made prior to giving much importance to the specific varietals of maguey (ma’ gay). Decades ago when a maestro was going to produce a mezcal to sell he did not go out hunting specific maguey if not he would go and harvest what was mature at the time.
